Karim Rashid

Born in Cairo to Egyptian and English parents, and raised in Canada, Karim now resides in New York, managing his private design studio. To date he has had around 3,000 objects put into production and has successfully entered the realm of architecture and interior design, designing the Morimoto restaurant in Philadelphia and the Semiramis Hotel in Athens.

Karim Rashid is one of the most prolific designers of his generation, having worked in more than 40 countries, has more than 3000 designs in production and more than 300 awards.

His His designs include luxury goods, furniture, lighting, exterior design, brand identity and packaging.

His work is in the permanent collections of fourteen museums around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Center Pompidou in Paris, and exhibits in several art galleries. Rashid was an Associate Professor of Industrial Design for 10 years and is now a frequent guest speaker at universities and conferences worldwide.
